Can You Give HIM a Hand?
I am totally amazed by people! Their willingness to help out in times of need!
Need food? Let’s have a food drive! We will get tons of food! That’s awesome!
Kid’s need coats, clothes? We will have truckloads of them! Make sure everyone gets one!
People are thirsty, let drill wells! Provide bottle water, give them something to drink!
Shelter, we’ve got that covered!
I have seen people raise millions of dollars to help the greatest of causes!
All of these things are NEEDED and WELL DONE and I thank God that we do these things!
(I participate in a lot of these things and encourage them).
BUT – (yes, you were waiting for this)
While Jesus ask us to do ALL of these things…
Matthew 25:
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. ’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me
He ask us to do ONE more.
Make disciples…
Matthew 28
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Just think, if WE, with the same enthusiasm did this DAILY like the early church did, what impact it would make on the WORLD!
