I Pick You!
Backyard football, pickup basketball, Red Rover any team game that you play! As a child, these
were just a few games that I enjoyed playing with kids from the neighborhood.
When it come time to choose teams it was “eenie, meenie, minee, mo” to choose the captains, then the captains began picking their team! Great! Now everyone would be playing, no one would be left out BUT you still had to be chosen and NO ONE wanted to be chosen LAST!

So for the following I was chosen last
Basketball – too short
Football – too little
Red Rover – too light
Do you see a pattern here people!!!!
But it didn’t matter, I got to play! Even more, I got to be with some of my best friends!
The process began…and I just waited my turn to be chosen, which was, usually, almost always…LAST!
Sometimes I would get a bit anxious, maybe hopeful that I would be chosen before someone else.
Did you know that you are chosen? Not for a game, not for a team.
You were chosen for life…eternal life.
Jesus chose you through His death, burial and resurrection.
Is there a catch? Yes, if you want to call it that.
It’s called obedience.
It is doing what His word tells us to do!
It is you wanting live for Him!
It is you choosing Him!
I pick Jesus!
