Keep Away from the Pond!
Back in the day, the county agriculture agents would come out and test our water. Wells, ponds, streams anything that people and animals would drink from. We would get a report and we would do what we needed to do to protect the family and animals.
When Grandaddy would learn that the water wasn’t good, he would do whatever it took to keep the animals AWAY from the water source. He knew the POISON would kill them. When the warning was sounded he listened and save a many an animal.
Could they have drank from it? Sure, but they ran a BIG risk of sickness or DEATH.
He barricaded and did everything to keep things away from danger.
Reminds me what the scripture says:
Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 These. 5:22
So who is responsible?
Parents you are responsible for your children. Do what you can to keep them safe. Keep them in faithful activities.
Husbands and wives: be responsible for each other, guiding each other in Godly ways and paths. Pray together, be faithful in worship and in study outside of worship.
Brothers and Sisters! Guide and direct people in the right paths, block the path to danger.
Do what James told us.
Chapter 5:
My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
Keep them away from the pond!
