The Road to Sixty – Day 72
Faith – Family and Friends
So today I had the opportunity to preach for the Talladega Church of Christ in Talladega, Alabama. They are a fine group of people. They are currently looking for a minister to come and work with them, so if you are interested please feel free to contact me and I will give you the information.
This congregation though small in number has a great love for the Lord and His church. It was evident in the singing, the number of daily Bible readers, and care for their members.
Although I was raised in Munford, I have a lot of friends and family from here. I was happy to see my cousin Sonny Caldwell and his son Tim. They are my aunt Kat’s (dad’s sisters) oldest son and grandson.
It was also good to see my cousins on the Bittle side of the family. Uncle Ernest, Gerald and Joy, Paul and Ernestine. It was great to share a meal with you.
I met people that knew my dad, Why your dad was our milkman back in the day…1963. I remember working with your Mom at Crown Textile, That plant has been closed for years.
It was good to remanence. It was even better to worship God together!
It was good to get back home and be with my kids at Spring Meadows. Love these guys a lot!
It was good to go home…some would say, back to our roots.
It was good to come back home…where my roots are planted.
It makes NO difference where these roots are, they all lead back to a solid faith in Jesus Christ!
I am proud of my roots!
Till tomorrow…
