The Road to Sixty – Day 93
We were told today at 5pm that Mom will pass from this life to the next in a few hours…
Preparing ourselves has been hard in some ways with “ups and downs” moments.
At midnight…Mom is still here, while only a shell of the body, she still breaths and her heart still beats.
Is it painful? Yes. I will not lie.
We have been asked by nurses and social workers, “has she seen everyone to say her goodbyes?”
Yes.
I think it is ironic that the weakest part of my Mom was her heart, (congestive heart failure) is now the strongest part of her body when all else has failed.
I’m sure there is a sermon or class here.
