World Kindness Day (at least that’s what they called it)

Don’t know who came up with it to make it an official day, but World Kindness Day was self explanatory. 

Be Kind.

I have seen signs in Maury County in yards with this message. I have seen t-shirts in Williamson County schools with this phrase. 

Why today was wear a Cardigan Sweater like Mr. Rogers to show kindness to each other. 

I love the reminders….

Even Paul wrote to the people of Ephesus saying, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

While I hope and pray that these reminders help, the only part that will work is the ACTION of kindness.

Now you can Google it all day long and find hundreds and thousand of suggestions on “how to be kind”, and “here is what to do!”

None of it is good…unless YOU put into ACTION.

It’s like fighting with your sister…Mama said to be kind to her, I can SAY it all day long, but my ACTIONS may never show it. 

Mama can’t make you, I can’t make you…YOU must do this on your own. 

BUT…. (a word that eliminates previous thoughts)

Being reminded HELPS, 

Putting into practice, (even if it’s fake) leaves the idea and concept in YOUR heart!

Once you have done it, it gets easier. 

Compassion helps. 

Treating people the way you want to be treated, changes the heart. (see Golden Rule)

It doesn’t have to be a MAJOR thing, sometimes a smile will do.

Kindness should be and can be a way of life.
